5. Learned something new today! I had no idea these species could survive in filterless tanks with the right setup.

6. My betta fish's tank has it's filter put on barest flow, as well as it's aurstone set to little tiny gentle bubbles. He's a happy, healthy boy. I feel at least a little water circulation is best, as there are no stagnant spots and better aeration. Even with a labyrinth organ, they do like some oxygen in the water when the swim below the surface.

   My minnows love to go in and out of the water flow and air bubbles. They are unbothered by a little stronger flow…not high, but they're from rivers, so their sleek bodies are made for some flow.

7. Most fish that are not found in rivers (most barbs) can easily be kept in a filter less tank. All u have to make sure is that the substrate is deep, the tank is appropriately planted, size is appropriate and most importantly do not stock densely. Suppose you can keep a school of 20 fish, keep 15.
   River fish like denasoni barb and such require highly oxygenated water and prefer fast flowing water

12. From my experience generally labyrinthfish and livebearers can be kept with no filters
    I've been doing walstad methods because i kept well over 40 45 gallons stubs of all manners of livebearers, specifically the many kinds of guppies, at that point giving all of them filters OUTDOORS is kind of ridiculous to do, from making outdoor extension cords, waterproofing it and making it work on… over 40 outdoor tubs

16. White Cloud Mountain Minnows are so much fun. In addition to my indoor pond I'm setting up a smaller filterless heavily-planted tank for my bedroom. Hopefully a bunch of swimming fish will help keep circulating the water, as well as providing CO2 for the fish to do well. 1:56 and 2:03 are confusingly repetitive lines btw.

19. I had a sponge filter for my betta. To go along with your point that you need a minimum of 10 gallons to go filterless, I’m glad I did have a filter since my tank was a rectangular 5 gallons.
