Jeffries argued the operation was falsely described as a law-enforcement action and said Democrats will demand answers on why Congress was bypassed, what the administration’s long-term plans are, and why Trump claims the U.S. is now “running Venezuela.”
While calling Nicolás Maduro a dictator, Jeffries emphasized that Venezuela’s future should be decided by its own people — not through unilateral U.S. military force.
