43. I make no where near that but Im already plotting a way to get around the capital gains tax. Not really very hard just takes some planning.
    So people that make over 1m for sure will be thinking of leaving or finding a way around it

45. Jeff Bezos literally stopped selling Amazon stock the same year we implemented a capital gains tax. The second he moved out of WA, resumed massive selling again. While he said it was to be closer to his family….why would he stop selling? Just convenient timing? Or he saw he could keep over a A BILLION of his earned money? Words are words, but actions speak much louder!
    The other side will say, they won’t even notice this tax they’re so rich!! But even as rich as Bezos is, I’m pretty sure he’d notice a billion less just simply for selling in the being in the wrong state. So what are we left with? He no longer spends here (which all spending is taxed) he no longer has his mansion here (property tax loss), and they think NO ONE else is going to leave just because it’s such a small tax… How many jobs did Amazon bring to WA? How vast is the ecosystem of small business that exist surrounding and providing to the workers of Amazon?
    What happens when Amazon says, we can move to Idaho or Montana, and save their billions? Then what?
