Democrat Michael Thurmond announces run for Georgia governor in critical race for the 2026 elections

This video discusses the election news from the state of Georgia that Democrat Michael Thurmond is running for Governor. Thurmond joins a growing Democratic Primary of 5 candidates so far and the possibility of past nominee Stacey Abrams joining the race as well. The Democrats are running to succeed Republican Governor Brian Kemp. The Republicans are running AG Chris Carr and LT Burt Jones. Georgia is expected to be one of the closest governor elections in the country in 2026, and after Georgia’s recent election results for President, Governor and Senate This is expected to be a very competitive race that will be decided by only a few thousand votes out of millions cast.
