Man- it's been driving me mad all year. Please let me disable holding space to speedup videos.
A lot of drawing, editing, 3D applications use the spacebar. You often have to hold it- then click. If you have a tutorial open on another screen that you're going back and forth between you're going to speed up the video- it then gets stuck in the 2x speed even when you release the space bar as chrome no longer has focus.
Driving me mad!
It's a cool feature when it's a mouse click though- don't mind that in the slightest.

Maybe I am wrong but wasn't it possible to fast forward by pressing anywhere in the video player? Today there was a YouTube Update. The UI looks very different. Now I have to click literally on the video itself, not just anywhere within the video. I am used to press and hold on my PC and using the cinema view quite near to the edge of the screen. It doesn't work (anymore?). You have to hold literally on the video itself. So on a 16:9 display watching this video where a lot of black space is around the video, I have to press and hold literally on the video itself, not anywhere within the player.
