    I had a union job for 18 years. It was a massive utility company & I was a union worker.
    We NEVER had to beg for a raise, time off for personal business, extra vacation time, made sure we got time & half, or double, or triple time we worked. No lawsuits needed. Our unions did the work for us.
    In the late 90s, "consolidation," was the popular way to screw employees…lay them off. When my group was hit, our union provided 2 years straight-time wages as a "going away present."
    $82K is what I left with. I was able to move, buy my own home.
    Strong unions are the best way to work in USA. But we also need stronger union protection laws now, too.
