YouTube Launches NEW UPDATE… Direct Messaging is Back!

1. If YouTube DMs come back… what’s the first cursed message you think creators will receive?

2. If they are going to let us message people, they need to let the creator have lots of setting like no pics. no link, no emojis, set number how how many words they can send.

I feel like it would be great if the messaging feature was creator to creator and was only avialable when you've interacted with each other's content (for excample, you've both left 3+ comments on each other's channels in the last few weeks, or subbed to each other's channels or something) – similar to how IG lets verified accounts message each other, or only lets followers message you when you've interacted with them a few times. I think the difficulty would be how do you classify a 'creator' beyond being a YT partner

17. There’s 2 creators I’d love to DM as I’d like to work with them and learn from. They both know who I am but I don’t have a way to connect unless I was to comment on their videos and say hey can we work together … kinda awkward

19. I would've laughed at myself 6 months ago for saying this, but…the shadow ban is absolutely real. I have never ever seen such poor traction on brand new videos on any of my channels ever.

25. Big mistake. If you’re a creator on IG and FB you know what I mean.

26. U should be able to invite everyone to DMs – sharing links is just too complicated. They should make a special area for messaging-requests, that u can then accept and start messaging.

I love that it's for anyone because, as someone who shares a LOT of video links on FB and in Messenger, it would be great to be able to just send videos to friends (who aren't creators) on YouTube for them to check out. I even flirted with a guy once, where we just kept sending music videos from YT back and forth. It would have been cool to be able to do that directly through the platform.

39. I don't like it at all. If my followers want to talk to me, they can leave a comment or email me.
